KSR Summer 2017 Round Up
/The summer is well and truly past us and the nights are drawing in setting the start of the Autumn/Winter season. We thought it would be an idea to round up our summer.
Our summer was thick and fast, filled with a multitude of different events. We had new kit additions including more L-Acoustics, Shure, Sennheiser & DPA equipment.
June started with a run of UK dates with Australian Rocker Jon Stevens. Jon was in the UK promoting his new Album Starlight and played a handful of UK shows including Isle of White Festival. We supplied a full touring control and IEM package.
June also saw Bristol Sounds come to town. A four day show in Bristol’s historic harbourside featuring Benobo, Manic Street Preachers, Craig David the Hacienda Orchestra. We supplied a full L-Acoustics system with K2/SB18 for FOH with Kara/SB18 fills. Monitors were our APG SMX15s and Sennheiser IEMs. Consoles were Midas Pro series and Avid Profiles.
Also in June we were at Glastonbury Festival helping out South West Group Events with Delays arrays outside the John Peel Tent for the thousands that turned up to see this year’s surprise artist, The Killers.
One of July’s highlights for us was Bristol Pride where we supplied a full technical production package including sound, stage structures, site power, lighting and crew. Main stage was headlined by Busted and Belinda Carlisle and the huge crowd was kept entertained by our L-Acoustics Kara system at FOH. We also supplied a full lighting rig which included 30 IP Rated par cans to light up the Lloyds Building. All ran from our Chamsys MQ100.
Our long standing (17 year!) relationship with Bristol Harbourside Festival continued. This year we provided 6 stages with PA systems including Jelly Records Cascade Steps. One of this year’s challenges was to provide sound reinforcement for the 20 piece Bristol Ensemble orchestra who played Handel’s Water Music from a barge that passed though Bristol’s harbor to close the event. For this we used our fantastic L Acoustics Kiva II system with a Midas M32 and more DPA microphone than we can remember. You can see a little video of this via this link.
August we had the return of the Old Duke Jazz Festival as well as Pub Chain Green King’s Party in The Car park events. A Somerset tradition is its Harvest home events where the village welcomes in the harvest. This year we provided full production for two of them. Which included Somerset’s one and only Wurzels. Where be that blackbird too....
We are looking forward to next year already with Autumn looking to be as busy as the summer.
Please get in touch if we can help you with planning any of your up and coming events.
